The Interstate 10 freeway is back open after it was partially closed during rush hour in west Phoenix because of a deadly crash on Wednesday.

It happened just before 5 p.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway near 79th Avenue. According to the Department of Public Safety, the car rolled over and the driver was thrown out of the car. The victim later died. The vehicle landed on its roof.

Troops said another car was involved but it’s unclear on the extent of the injuries.

The eastbound lanes of I-10 were shut down at 83rd Avenue but reopened just before 7:30 p.m.
